What is LOGOS? We will do some research of our own to find the definition, using Clark’s Commentary, a book written by Adam Clarke, LLD, FSA, in 1872. Mr. Clarke was a biblical scholar who researched each verse thoroughly, before he wrote his opinion of its meaning. Because of his diligence, his book is used as a research source even today, though his book was first published in 1872.

‘LOGOS’ is a Greek word. We go to The Emphatic Diaglott, the Greek to English translation of the New Testament, where we find this word used in John 1:1-5, and 14, which we quote as follows:

“....In the beginning was the LOGOS, and the LOGOS was with God, and the LOGOS was God. This was in the Beginning with God. Through it every thing was done; and without it not even one thing was done, which has been done. In it was Life; and the Life was the Light of Men. And the Light shone in the Darkness, and the Darkness apprehended it not.....And the LOGOS became Flesh, and dwelt among us, -and we beheld his Glory, a Glory as of an Only-begotten from a Father, -full of Favor and Truth.”

Mr. Clarke, in the above mentioned Commentary, tells of various scholars’ opinions of the meaning of this word ‘LOGOS.’ When the ancient Persian lawgiver Zoroaster consulted Ormusd, he spoke to him thusly:

“‘....O Ormusd, absorbed in excellence, just Judge of the world, pure, who existest by thy own power, what is that great Word given by God, that living and powerfulWord , O Ormusd, tell me plainly, which existed before the heavens, before the water, before the earth, before the flocks, before the fire, before men, before the whole race of existing beings, before all the benefits, and before all the pure germs given by Ormusd?’ Ormusd replied, ‘Pronounce that great Word well, that Word which existed before heaven was made, before the water, before the earth, before brute animals, before men, and before the holy angels. I pronounce that Word with majesty, and all the pure beings which are, and which have been, and which shall be, were formed.’” (Page 522.)

Mr. Clarke also quotes Jescht of Farvardin, Ibid., Volume ii, p. 252, as follows:

“....It is termed, ‘The creator, or creating principle.’” (Page 522.)

and also, “‘.....The Word proceeds from the first principle, time without bounds, i.e., eternity: it is before all created beingsand by it all the creation of God has been formed.’” (Page 523.)

Mr. Clarke is quoted in the comments section of The Emphatic Diaglott, (Greek to English translation), that it is his opinion that the word ‘LOGOS’ should not have been translated in the versions of the Holy Bible that were subsequent to the Greek.

With all these definitions in mind, we will seek to illustrate, with passages from the Holy Bible, some of the various instances that the work of LOGOS was so clearly demonstrated. In doing so, we will gain a much greater understanding of the work of LOGOS, up to, and including, eventually, its work of total restoration of this world.

We will start with -

When God spoke, things happened. HE not only created our World, but HE created the seemingly unending magnitude of the whole Universe, which leave scientists continually amazed, through the revelations from the modern Hubble telescope. Humankind cannot grasp the magnitude of the unlimited, magnificent power that God has demonstrated, over and over again, in so many different ways. This astonishing, Creative Life Power is called LOGOS.

“....In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God said, ‘Let there be light: and there was light’.....And God said, ‘Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters’.....And God said, ‘Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear:’ and it was so......And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth:’ and it was so......And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night: and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth:’ and it was so.....He made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth....And God said, ‘Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. ....And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind’: and it was so.....And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and

over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth’.....And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”

(Genesis 1:1-3, 6, 9, 11, 14-17, 20, 24, 26, 31 KJV)

Some of the instances of the demonstration of God’s magnificent LOGOS power were for the purpose of convincing the people, from time to time, that HE was with them. Moses was chosen as their leader to bring them out of Egypt, after 400 years of exile, but he lacked confidence in himself. Therefore,

not once, but twice, first to convince Moses that God was with him, and then to illustrate the power of God to Pharaoh. The rod was sometimes referred to as Moses’, sometimes as his brother Aaron’s, and sometimes, even as God’s Rod, and was used as a symbol of power, like a king wields a scepter.

“....And Moses answered and said, ‘But, behold, they will not believe me, nor harken unto my voice: for they will say, ‘The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.’ And the Lord said unto him, ‘What is that in thine hand?’ And he said, ‘A rod.’ And he said, ‘Cast it on the ground.’ And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the Lord said unto Moses, ‘Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail.’ And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand. ‘That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.’” (Exodus 4:1-5 KJV)

“....And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, ‘When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, ‘Shew a miracle for you:’ then thou shalt say unto Aaron, ‘Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.’ And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents; but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.” (Exodus 7:8-13 KJV)

Can we really imagine the feeling that he experienced, when

Leprosy, considered a plague in Old Testament times, is called Hansen’s disease in our modern times. According to The American Medical Association Home MedicalEncyclopedia, it is a very disabling disease, having a very long incubation period - about three to five years. In order to cure the person, a two-year treatment of antibiotics is necessary, but any damage done to the person is permanent. No restoration, or healing process occurs when the bacteria responsible for it are finally killed.

We now will read of what happened to Moses, by the LOGOS power of God!

“....And the Lord said furthermore unto him, ‘Put now thine hand into thy bosom.’ And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. And he said, ‘Put thine hand into thy bosom again.’ And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh. ‘And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither harken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.’” (Exodus 4:6-8 KJV)

As another illustration of HIS great LOGOS power, God poured out ten plagues against Pharaoh and the Egyptian people, and finally the Israelites were allowed to leave the land of their captivity. However the Egyptian army followed, when Moses led the Israelites to the shore of the Red Sea.

“....And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, ‘Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?’ And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.....But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.”

(Exodus 14:5-7, 9 KJV)

The Israelites, terrified, were sure they were going to die in the wilderness.

“....And Moses said unto the people, ‘Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.’”

(Exodus 14:13-14 KJV)

And God, demonstrating HIS power through Moses, spoke unto him, and said,

“.....‘But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord....’” (Exodus 14:16-18 KJV)

We can only imagine the amazement of the Israelites and the Egyptian army, when -

“....And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea DRY LAND, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.....And the Lord said unto Moses, ‘Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.....And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.....Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.....And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.” (Exodus 14:21-23, 26, 28, 30-31 KJV)

By this, and so many other demonstrations of the mighty LOGOS Power, the Israelites learned ‘early on,’ that God takes care of HIS people. They were in the Wilderness, it says in some references, and in other places, it refers to the land as a desert. We can roughly trace their wanderings over the course of 40 years, according to Biblical maps, and the Scriptural places named. After crossing the Red Sea from west to east, they headed south in what is now known as the Sinai Peninsula, down to Mt. Sinai, located near the foot of the peninsula. Then they turned roughly northeast, and roughly paralleled the Gulf of Aqaba, which separates modern day Saudi Arabia and Jordan from modern day Egypt. They spent considerable time in the Negev Desert, and finally, they ended their wanderings in what is now Jordan, on the east side of the River Jordan, near Mt. Nebo, where so many Palestinians dwell.

The route took them through some of the most barren land on the face of this earth. To this day, a great deal of the area that they are known to have wandered in, is absolute desolation, totally devoid of vegetation. Just barren mountains, rock and sand, without a living green thing or other visible sign of life, other than an occasional oasis around a spring or well. The fact that they were sent there, and for such a long time, was to demonstrate God’s great LOGOS Power, by HIS constant provision for them, in the most hostile environment. HE brought them into a condition where ONLY HE could help them.

Yet, there were always those who were so unhappy because of the deprivation, and who wished to go back to Egypt, and these stirred up the people against Moses.

“....And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, ‘What shall I do unto this peoplethey be almost ready to stone me!

(Exodus 17:4 KJV)

“....Then said the Lord unto Moses, ‘Behold,

for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.’”

(Exodus 16:4 KJV)

What did this “bread from heaven” look like?

“....And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, ‘It is manna:’ for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them,

This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating’....And Moses said, ‘Let no man leave of it till the morning.’ Notwithstanding they harkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.”

(Exodus 16:14-16, 19-21 KJV)

We even know what it tasted like!

“....And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.” (Exodus 16:31 KJV)

“....And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium. And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it, and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.”

(Numbers 11:7-8 KJV)

So God gave them Manna to eat, and provided food and water for them, for 40 YEARS!

What a magnificent manifestation of God’s Creative LOGOS Power.

“......And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.” (Exodus 16:35 KJV)

“....Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.”

(Nehemiah 9:20-21 KJV)

However, Moses’ authority was constantly in question by the people. They resented the fact that they had been led out of the comforts of Egypt, into the hardships of the journey in the desert, and some were constantly creating strife and fomenting discontent among the sojourners. Therefore, to prove that HE was with Moses,

In fact, it did far more than just blossom - what a wonderful demonstration of God’s Creative LOGOS Power!

“....Speak unto the children of Israel, and take every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod. And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you’.....And it came to pass, that on the morrow, Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.” (Numbers 17:2-5, and 8 KJV)

After Moses died on Mt. Nebo, Joshua, whose name means ‘Whose help (salvation) is Jehovah’ in Hebrew, led the Israelites into the Promised Land. Later, he continued to be a leader for the Israelites, in their battle against the five kings of the Amorites. Let us read of the day that -

“....Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,

Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.’ And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord harkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. (Joshua 10:12-14 KJV)

This is not the only historically documented time that the heavenly bodies moved in a manner contrary to their normal revolutions. In ancient times, people used sundials to tell time. Let us now read of the time that -

King Hezekiah, whose name in Hebrew means ‘The might of Jehovah,’ was a God fearing King for Israel, and he became extremely ill.

“....In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amos came to him, and said unto him, ‘Thus saith the Lord,

set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.’ And he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,

‘I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight.’

“And Hezekiah wept sore. And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

‘Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee:....And I will add to thy days fifteen years..’

....And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, ‘What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me .....?’ And Isaiah said, ‘This sign shalt thou have of the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?’ And Hezekiah answered,

‘It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.’ And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.” (II Kings 20:1-6, 8-11 KJV)

According to an article published August 29, 1995, in The Seattle Times, it says that -

the gravitational pull of the sun, far stronger than the moon, keeps Earth from straying from its orbit. But the combined effect of the Sun’s gravity and the Moon’s gravity causes Earth’s axis to wobble, or rotate as the years progress, like the motion of a gyroscope or a spinning top.

Furthermore, in another article in The Seattle Times, published July 18, 1996, we are amazed to read that a team of earthquake specialists, scientists, have discovered that -

“....the Earth’s core, moving in the same direction as the rest of the Earth, spins fast enough to outpace the remainder of the planet by one full rotation in 400 years. The discovery is a geophysical surprise, and may profoundly alter the understanding of the Earth’s deep interior. Most important, it may help explain why, and how, Earth’s magnetic field

“flip-flops,” reversing polarity at intervals (they estimate), of about 400,000 years. ‘For the first time,’ Richards said, ‘we have a hard piece of evidence, an actual measurement, of what is happening down there in the earth’s interior.’”

If the Earth’s axis wobbles sufficiently, the rotation of the Earth is affected. In Van Nostrand’s Scientific Encyclopedia, 8th Edition, it says that the placement of the Earth’s Equator has shifted through the millennia, as the Earth’s axis has changed. Certainly, the Creator of the whole Universe, can use HIS LOGOS Power to change anything, at any time. It is interesting to note that modern scientific findings may validate the amazing things documented within the pages of the Holy Bible.

Another awe-inspiring example of LOGOS at work, is when God’s great prophet

All through the history of Humankind, the overriding question has been - “Who is God?” In an earlier chapter, we discussed the history of the Trinity and the doctrine of Incarnation, and the universality of its belief among the various peoples, even in as educated a time as we live in today.

At the time of Elijah, the belief in the Baal Trinity was rampant, and Elijah set out to illustrate to the people, with the glorious assistance of God’s Creative LOGOS Power, exactly who God is. So he declared a drought, to grab the people’s attention.

“....And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto (king) Ahab, ‘As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.’”

(I Kings 17:1 KJV)

How long was that drought? Jesus Christ, Himself, tells us, as follows:

“....But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land....”

(Luke 4:25 KJV)

After all the people had suffered so much from the famine, Elijah had a meeting with king Ahab, the man to whom he had declared the drought, 42 months prior.

“....And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, ‘Art thou he that troubleth Israel?’ And he answered, ‘I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. Now therefore, send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table.’”

(I Kings 18:17-19 KJV)

At king Ahab’s command, the people all gathered, to see and hear what was going to happen at this event. Then Elijah, whose name in Hebrew means ‘My God is Jehovah,’ began to speak.

“....And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, ‘How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.’ And the people answered him not a word. Then said Elijah unto the people, ‘I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore, give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under, and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire underAnd call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God.’ And all the people answered and said, ‘It is well spoken.’ (I Kings 18:21-24 KJV)

Soon the all-important question of ‘Who Is God’ would be dramatically answered.

It was Baal’s ministers and prophets who had the first chance to answer the question, with fire from heaven on their bullock, to validate their claim of Baal as God.

“....And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, ‘O Baal, hear us.’But there was no voice, nor any that answered, and they leaped upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, ‘Cry aloud; for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.’ And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.”

(I Kings 18:26-29 KJV)

Now it was Elijah’s turn!

“....And Elijah said unto all the people, ‘Come near unto me.’ And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, ‘Israel shall be thy name:’ And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the woodand said, ‘fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.’ And he said, ‘Do it the second time.’ And they did it the second time. And he said, ‘Do it the third time.’ And they did it the third time. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.”

(I Kings 18:30-35 KJV)

And then Elijah prayed!

“....And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said,

Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O Lord, HEAR ME, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again!’”

(I Kings 18:36-37 KJV)

And then God’s mighty LOGOS Power answered!

“....Then the fire of the Lord felland consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.” (I Kings 18:38 KJV)

And now it was the people’s turn to respond.

“....And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, ‘THE LORD, HE IS THE GOD; THE LORD, HE IS THE GOD.’”

(I Kings 18:39 KJV)

Another magnificent example of God’s Creative LOGOS Power at work, was when the

King Nebuchadnezzar made a huge image, and set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. He announced a dedication of this image, which all the officials of the land were to attend, as well as all citizens. Nearby, they had also set up a huge fiery furnace, going full blast.

“....Then an herald cried aloud, ‘To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.’”

(Daniel 3:4-6 KJV)

And everyone bowed down to the image at the sound of the music. That is, everyone except for three, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, Jews, having been set over the affairs of the province of Babylon. The King, in his rage and fury, commanded these three brought before him, and asked them, if indeed, it was true that they had not served his gods, nor worshipped the golden image which he had set up.

“....Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well, but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and WHO is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?”

(Daniel 3:15 KJV)

King Nebuchadnezzar had issued the challenge, and God’s wonderful LOGOS Power was ready with the answer! However, the brave ‘soldiers’ in this battle between the God Powers did not know what would happen to them. Therefore,

“....Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king,

‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou has set up.’”

(Daniel 3:16-18 KJV)

Of course, the king was furious.

“....Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind (the three) and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore, because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego.”

(Daniel 3:19-22 KJV)

The king’s fury changed to astonishment, as God’s LOGOS Power demonstrated itself.

“....Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, ‘Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?’ They answered, and said unto the king, ‘True, O king.’ He answered and said, ‘Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God!’”

(Daniel 3:24-25 KJV)

The king came near the mouth of the fiery furnace, and called them out.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, ‘Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.’”

(Daniel 3:27-28 KJV)

In ‘The Song of The Three Holy Children’ in The Apocrypha, it further discusses this terrible deed that was done to these three, by the hand of the king Nebuchadnezzar, and sheds further light on this subject.

“...And the king’s servants, that put them in, ceased not to make the oven hot with rosin, pitch, tow, and small wood; So that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty and nine cubits….But the angel of the Lord came down into the oven, together with Azarias and his fellows, and smote the flame of the fire out of the oven; And made the midst of the furnace as it had been a moist whistling wind, so that the fire touched them not at all, neither hurt nor troubled them. Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised, glorified, and blessed God in the furnace, saying....”

(Song of The Three Holy Children, verses 23-24, and 26-28 Apocrypha)

Their prayer is a very long and inspiring one, and the reader is encouraged to look it up and join the praise to God, and thankfulness to HIM for HIS tremendous blessings on all of us.

This next manifestation of God’s great, Creative LOGOS Power, is actually the source for that famous phrase,

The wicked king Belshazzar, whose name in Hebrew, interestingly enough, means, ‘Bel (or Baal), protect the King,’ had a great feast for a thousand of his lords, wives and concubines, and then commanded his servants to bring the gold and silver vessels that his father, king Nebuchadnezzar, had stolen from the temple in Jerusalem. He wanted to have enough vessels so that everyone at his feast could drink. Little did he know that he was going to witness a dis-embodied hand write a condemnation of him, and a prophesy of what would immediately thereafter, happen to his kingdom.

“....They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stoneIn the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace, and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.” (Daniel 5:4-6 KJV)

None of his wise men could decipher the message written on the plaster, except for Daniel, God’s servant, who had a reputation for the ability to do such things. He was well respected, and the king sent for him.

“....I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee, And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing: And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

(Daniel 5:14-16 KJV)

Then Daniel, whose name in Hebrew means ‘My God’s judgment,’ spoke to the king.

“....Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation......Thou has lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified. Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. And this is the writing that was written. MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.”

(Daniel 5:17, 23-25 KJV)

“‘This is the interpretation of the thing. MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.’”

(Daniel 5:26-28 KJV)

In that very night, king Belshazzar was killed, and his kingdom taken over by the Medes.

Again, God’s amazing LOGOS Power was used to show who God really is. King Belshazzar lost his kingdom for his wicked ways, and for praising and giving his allegiance to the god of silver and gold, brass, iron, wood, stone, etc., that is, the god of this world, and all its creation.

We have been discussing many of the Old Testament examples of the Creative Power of God, that is, HIS LOGOS at work. All examples of LOGOS are far beyond the abilities of Humankind, and are without a doubt, what ONLY God can do. LOGOS comes in many forms. We will now explore the various examples of God’s Creative LOGOS Power, from the perspective of its work within the flesh of Humankind.

In the May 23, 1999 issue of The Seattle Times Northwest Magazine, author William Dietrich disclosed in an article, that the name ‘Adam’ in the Hebrew language means ‘wet clay.’ God’s Word tells us that man was formed of the dust of the ground.

“....And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

(Genesis 2:7 KJV)

“....And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’” (Genesis 2:21-23 KJV)

The human body is a miracle in itself. A large percentage of Medical practitioners say that they are amazed at the physiological complexity of the human body, and as they study, they become more and more convinced that the origin of such a thing could not have been an ‘accident of Nature,’ but had to have a Creator.

For example, every living organism, whether plant or animal, has its whole genetic blueprint in each and every cell of its body. Within a human being, (except for those suffering from certain rare disorders), each and every cell holds 46 chromosomes, a total of 23 from each parent. These chromosomes are in the form of a double helix, that is, a double, interlocking spiral, holding all of the hereditary information from both parents. Attached to these DNA spirals, scientists now estimate, are approximately 40,000 genes. Within these genes are over three billion base pairs of genetic material, according to Incyte Pharmaceuticals, one of the firms involved in mapping the whole human genome. A recent Nobel Prize winner has found that each human cell contains a billion protein moleculesAll this complex information is within each and every cell in the human body. We cannot comprehend this complexity, and even more amazingly, it is microscopic in size.

When God created Man from the dust of the earth, HIS breath transformed that dust to living flesh and blood, with all its inherent DNA complexity. This is just one example of the Creative Power of LOGOS at work, in the form of flesh.

Again, God demonstrated HIS Creative LOGOS Power, in restoring the reproductive capability of Abraham and Sarah, to prove HIS promise of an heir was true! Again, God chose the most unbelievable circumstances, to demonstrate HIS ability as The Life Giver. HE didn’t need to use fertility drugs and complex medical procedures to accomplish the birth of Isaac. But even Abraham, known as the Father of Faith, doubted God’s promise.

“....And God said unto Abraham, ‘As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.’ Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, ‘Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? And shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?’” (Genesis 17:15-17 KJV)

Abraham, whose Hebrew name means ‘Father of a multitude,’ was the friend of God, (II Chronicles 20:7, Isaiah 41:8, and James 2:23). As HE, on certain occasions, did to the ancient people, God spoke to Abraham through HIS heavenly messengers, the angels. This particular time, three angels appeared unto Abraham, visiting him at his tent dwelling.

“....And they said unto him, ‘Where is Sarah thy wife?’ And he said, ‘Behold, in the tent.’ And he said, ‘I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.’ And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore, Sarah laughed within herself, saying, ‘After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old, also?’ And the Lord said unto Abraham, ‘Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?’ ‘Is any thing too hard for the Lord?At the time appointed, I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.’”

(Genesis 18:9-14 KJV)

“....And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, ‘Isaac.’” (Genesis 21:1-3 KJV)

Now we are ready to discuss the conception and birth of Jesus Christ, whom the Apostle John calls LOGOS. As we quoted from The Emphatic Diaglott, the Greek to English translation of the New Testament, in the beginning of this chapter, we requote the passage now, as follows:

“....In the beginning was the LOGOS, and the LOGOS was with God, and the LOGOS was God. This was in the Beginning with God. Through it everything was done; and without it not even one thing was done, which has been done. In it was Life; and the Life was the Light of Men. And the Light shone in the Darkness, and the Darkness apprehended it not.”

(John 1:1-5 The Emphatic Diaglott)

All these examples of the LOGOS Power that we have quoted in this article, all from the Old Testament, have pertained to God demonstrating HIS glorious, unlimited Power in such a way, that Mankind can neither deny, resist, nor duplicate it.

However, for faith to take root and grow to fruition within the hearts of the people, it was necessary that LOGOS become Personified, that is, become flesh, in the form of Jesus Christ.

“....And the Logos became Flesh, and dwelt among us, -and we beheld his Glory, a Glory as of an Only-begotten from a Father, -full of Favor and Truth.” (John 1:14 The Emphatic Diaglott)

Again, God, the Source of all life, demonstrated HIS Creative Power so magnificently, in the supernatural conception of the PERSONIFIED LOGOS. The Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, and said as follows:

“....Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God, And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; And of his kingdom, there shall be no end.’ Then said Mary unto the angel, ‘How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?’ And the angel answered and said unto her, ‘The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called The Son of God....For with God nothing shall be impossible.’”

(Luke 1:30-35, and 37 KJV)

It is this passage upon which modern day Christianity bases their Doctrine of Incarnation, as the explanation for their claim of the Trinity God concept, which we have shown God condemned in every respect. God sought, by the working of miracles, to show clearly that HE was not approving of their doctrine. Since God condemned that doctrine, HE surely would NOT utilize that ‘method’ of bringing HIS precious Son into this world.

Rather, the normal means or law of reproduction was waived, and the Creative Life Power of the Highest was united with the reproductive ability of the Virgin, by virtue of The Power or work of the Holy Ghost. Let us read of this in The Emphatic Diaglott, Luke 1:34-35, as follows:

“….Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I know not a Man?’ And the Angel answering, said to her, ‘Holy Spirit will come upon thee, and Power from the Most High will overshadow thee; and therefore that begotten, being holy, will be called a Son of God.’”

Does that sound like Incarnation? We do not limit God’s magnificent, unfathomable, Creative LOGOS Power. We believe that the same Creative LOGOS Power that was manifested in;

1. The Creation of the Universe,

2. The Turning of Moses’ Rod into a Serpent, and back into a Rod again,

3. The Turning of Moses’ Hand Leprous, and then fully restoring it,

4. The Pouring out of the ten plagues on the Egyptians,

5. Moses’ Parting of the Red Sea into a wall of water on each side, permitting his

people to escape,

6. The Raining of Manna from Heaven for 40 years, to feed HIS people,

7. Aaron’s Rod forming buds, blossoming, and bearing almonds overnight,

8. The Sun and the Moon standing still, to give daylight to fight the enemy,

9. Making the Sundial’s Shadow go backward, to show King Hezekiah that God

was with him,

10. Elijah calling fire down from Heaven to dramatically show the people who God is,

11. Saving the Three Holy Men from death in the burning, fiery furnace, by the

presence of an Angel from God, who made the midst of the furnace a cool,

whistling wind,

12. The dis-embodied Hand Writing on the Wall, which terrified King Belshazzar,

and ended his reign that very night,

13. The Creation of Adam from the dust of the ground,

14. The restoration of the reproductive abilities of Abraham, 100 years of age, and

his wife Sarah, 90 years old, culminating in the birth of their son, Isaac,

....and through many other examples not listed here, also has manifested itself in the true immaculate conception, the union of the Father’s Seed, with that of Mary in her womb, as LOGOS, the Creative Life Power, PERSONIFIED. As the Angel Gabriel told Mary, Nothing is impossible with God.

All during the time that Jesus Christ was on the earth, the work of LOGOS continued, with all the miracles that Jesus performed, to inspire and convince the people of His time, that indeed, He was the promised Messiah, the true Son of God.

In fact, the work of the Reformative LOGOS continues today, in the hearts and lives of all those motivated by His Spirit! His believers and followers seek to have the Creative LOGOS Power transform them into better people. Jesus Christ referred to this transforming work of LOGOS within the believers, and said,

“....Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

(John 3:5-7 KJV)

The Apostle Peter speaks also regarding this:

“....Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

(I Peter 1:23 KJV)

When can a person think or say that he or she is ‘born again?’ We must remember Peter, after spending three and one half years in the direct presence of Jesus Christ, still was not converted, at the time that he denied knowledge of the Saviour. Jesus spoke to him, as follows:

“....And the Lord said, ‘Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

(Luke 22:31-32 KJV)

It represents a lifetime of work to overcome one’s human nature. Therefore, one must

“....That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.....Let all bitterness and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.’”

(Ephesians 4:22-24, and 31-32 KJV)

And the only way it can be accomplished is to

“....Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:10-17 KJV)

The working of LOGOS within the heart and life of the serious believer, causes a strong desire to be

“....Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

(II Peter 1:2-8 KJV)

And the work of LOGOS continues to inspire the believer to

“....But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, ‘Be ye holy, for I am holy.”

(I Peter 1:15-16 KJV)

“....Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48 KJV)

This leads us to the next example of the Creative, Transforming work of LOGOS, giving yet another ‘birth’ to the believer. This birth is

which the Apostle Paul speaks of, as follows:

“....Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy stingO grave, where is thy victory?”

(I Corinthians 15:51-55 KJV)

Paul also speaks as follows, of this birth to Immortality as the Resurrection of the believers:

“....But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him....For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.”

(I Thessalonians 4:13-14, and 16 KJV)

The transforming work of LOGOS does not stop with the believers. We must consider the sad, polluted condition of the earth today. At the time of Adam and Eve, the earth was given to them for the use of it, to provide food and shelter for them.

But instead of taking care of it, all these years of human habitation have poisoned the earth with every kind of toxin. There are Toxic Waste Sites in every city and nation on earth, ranging from nuclear waste dumps from ‘peaceful’ uses of atomic power, military munitions dumps, to seemingly innocuous agricultural chemicals, all of which filter down through the soil into the aquifers. Ultimately, every poison and chemical known to be used on the earth, ends up in the drinking water reservoirs. A worldwide study of the constantly diminishing potable drinking water available in the world today, led the world’s leaders to declare that the “next big war will be over water rights.” (Seattle Times, AP)

Even the heavens are polluted with all the debris left from all the space probes, and from NASA’s experiments. Therefore, God plans a cleansing of the heavens and the earth, through the work of HIS Magnificent, Restorative LOGOS Power. The Apostle Peter testifies of this work as follows, and says that

“....But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” (II Peter 3:10-12 KJV)

Let us remember ancient, mystical Babylon of the Chaldees, the beginning of the brick creation, the first of the cities on the earth, and the very source for the Doctrine of Incarnation. Babylon of old is no more, but modern day Babylon, with its ‘christianized heathenism’ Incarnation Doctrine and brick creation intact, is so firmly established on earth, that it is an act of faith to believe it will be destroyed, as part of the cleansing of the earth and the heavens. Let us read further:

“....And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, (that is, they are of a spiritual nature), and God hath remembered her iniquities’....Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city ! For in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men’..(!)....And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, ‘Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.’”

(Revelation 18:4-5, 8-13, 21 KJV)

Modern day Babylon is also referred to as ‘the great whore’ in the next chapter. Why is she a ‘whore?’ Let us remember the co-founder of ancient Babylon, Semiramis, that harlot who had the child out of wedlock after her husband died, and lied and said that it was her husband, ‘incarnated’ into the body of the child. That Incarnation Doctrine has ‘seduced’ and permeated the whole earth. Let us read of ‘her’ final end.

“....And after these things, I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, ‘Alleluia: Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.’ And again they said, ‘Alleluia.’ And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.”

(Revelation 19:1-3 KJV)

How do we know that the whore mentioned in the above text is Babylon, and its shadow is ancient Semiramis?

“....And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. ....And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”

(Revelation 17:5 and 18 KJV)

Finally, the ultimate reason for all the demonstrations of God’s great LOGOS Power through the ages has come. “In the Beginning,” it says, God created, on the earth, the Paradise Garden, and called it Eden. NOW, the final Transforming work of LOGOS, the Restorative work of LOGOS, the Miraculous work of LOGOS will manifest itself in the creation of

which will, finally, result in the establishment of the whole earth as Paradise Restored.

“....And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.....And he that sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And he said unto me, ‘Write: for these words are true and faithful.’ And he said unto me, ‘It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.’” (Revelation 21:1 and 5-7 KJV)

The same wonderful, Creative Power that formed the Universe, was personified in Jesus Christ. The same Magnificent LOGOS Power that closed the heavens for 3-1/2 years during the time of Elijah, that same Awe-inspiring Power that formed a wall of water on each side for the Israelites to cross over the Red Sea, that same Power that was demonstrated in countless ways when God spoke HIS Word, was also manifested when God spoke, and Mary conceived “The Word - THE LOGOS - in Flesh” - Jesus Christ.

Now we can understand these following puzzling passages. As Jesus Christ prayed to His Father before His crucifixion, he referred to the glory that He had before the Creation, while yet unborn. This Glory was the glory of God’s Creative LOGOS Power, which, many thousands of years later, Jesus was to Personify. Was Jesus there, physically, at that time? No. But He was such an integral part of God’s great Plan, it was almost as if He existed at that time.

“....And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”

(John 17:5 KJV)

God knew HE would have a Son, an Atonement for the sins of Humankind. Just as a natural mother loves and longs for the yet unconceived child, so God also, as The Father, felt thisEternal love for the Son who would be the perfect demonstration of HIS LOGOS Power in Flesh.

“....for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”

(John 17:24 KJV)

Jesus Christ, as the LOGOS Power Personified, was symbolically ‘present’ as the LOGOS Power that God demonstrated at the time of Abraham.

“...Jesus said unto them, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.’” (John 8:58 KJV)

So, also, was the LOGOS Power so magnificently demonstrated at the time of Moses, when he led The Israelites through the desert for 40 long years. The yet unborn Jesus Christ, was symbolically ‘there’ with them, as the LOGOS, the spiritual Rock that they could depend upon for salvation, that would see them through all their troubles and tribulation, on into the Promised Land. That same LOGOS Power that lead them, was later personalized in the being of Jesus Christ, LOGOS PERSONIFIED, the Son of The Almighty, the Saviour of Humanity.

“....Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” (I Corinthians 10:1-4 KJV)
